Here at TalkPlus, we know life can be challenging and overwhelming, often resulting in less time for yourself, a lack of sleep and time spent worrying. We can help by by giving you the tools to cope with the stress of day-to-day life. We offer free NHS talking therapies to anyone aged 16+ struggling with low mood and worry. Whilst we are not a crisis service, like with most physical health conditions it’s good to seek advice earlier rather than later. We work mostly with mild and moderate mental health difficulties. For more severe and enduring difficulties it may be that another service is better suited to your needs. If in doubt about referring, you can discuss the best option with your GP.
It can be very hard to take the initial step reach out for support. That’s why we have developed a variety of ways to make the initial referral; you can email us or complete the online webform. When you refer you can request to be contacted by SMS. If you struggle with forms, your GP can complete the referral for you.
Our therapists are trained to talk to people who are struggling. There is no such thing as weird. Whatever you want to say we have probably heard it before. It’s okay to cry or feel nervous. We understand it can feel like a lot to take the first step. That’s why we work hard to try and support you in whichever way makes you feel most comfortable.
Struggling with finding work, returning to work or seeking support discussing mental health with employers? TalkPlus work in close partnership with Richmond Fellowship, a national mental health charity that provides all our clients with an optional employment support service. Work and employment can affect our mental health causing stress, worry, low mood or trouble sleeping. Richmond Fellowship can offer a variety of individualised support to help you find the right solution.
Experiencing any issues with keeping up on day-to-day life after having Covid, or an ongoing long term physical health condition? Seeking new opportunities or support to improve your current situation? We have specially trained Long Term Conditions Therapists who can show you coping techniques to get you back on track. This could include anxiety around re-entering society after extended time spent isolating.
If you have a specific difficulty you’d like to focus on immediately, or a lack of time to focus on a full course of therapy, we can offer Single Session Therapy. You will learn coping strategies in one session and receive a review call a month later to see how you got on. Please request this type of therapy if you’re feeling really motivated to take the first steps in overcoming a specific difficulty at the moment, like anxiety over the pandemic or feeling overwhelmed by stress.
